The ProteOn GLC sensor chip is designed for general amine coupling and has a compact polymer layer with a binding capacity of approximately one protein monolayer. The nearly planar surface layer of the GLC chip helps mitigate mass transport effects that are often observed with thicker surface layers. The GLC sensor chip is the most commonly used chip but the capacity (~ 5 KRU) is less than the CM5 of Biacore.
The GLC sensor chip can be modified with the GLC Lipid kit (1) to modify the surface with hydrophobic moieties which can capture liposomes. In this way the GLC chip is comparable with the L1 sensor chip of Biacore.
It is suitable for various applications, including protein-protein interaction analysis (2).
The ProteOn GLM sensor chip is designed for general amine coupling and has an extended polymer matrix with intermediate binding capacity for a high response. The capacity of the GLM sensor chip is comparable to the CM5 chip of Biacore. It is suitable for various applications, including protein-small molecule and protein-protein interaction analysis (1).
The ProteOn GLH sensor chip is used for general amine coupling and has a highly extended mixed polymer layer with maximum binding capacity for the highest analyte response (~ 20 kRU). The capacity of this sensor chip is close to the CM7 of Biacore. It is suitable for various applications, including protein-small molecule (<1 kDa) and protein-protein interaction where highest sensitivity is the primary concern. (1).
